All of the training is centred around evidence based practice, subject matter expertise and real experiences of people within the subject.
Whether it's neurodivergent led Autism Awareness Training, or a Level 1 Safeguarding Course the courses are designed with lived experience by someone who cares passionately about making sure people have good experiences of voluntary sector services and the workplaces they deliver them in.
Our training offers workplace awareness courses; so you get neurodiverse workplaces that are right for people with a range of neurodivergent conditions to services that have a good understanding of mental health conditions and how to approach trauma informed conversations about them. Evidence based practice is mixed with real life experience to ensure that when people are trained it meets the needs of both those designing and accessing services.
The aim is that people to come away from the training feeling different: feeling heard, enlightened and empowered to deliver their very best both to the clients and customers they work with but also the colleagues and teams they work alongside.
The vision is for accessible, inclusive workplaces that are great to work in, and for children, young people and adults to feel truly understood and included, and that they are front and centre, when they access frontline services.
To make this happen training is tailored to a range of learning styles, that there is an understanding og what your organisation and services do, and that we facilitate the expertise that your staff already have, and engage them in wanting to be the best.
Frontline Skills Training is led by Jo Holloway-Green, an experienced, passionate trainer who has worked in the voluntary and community sector for over 20 years.
Jo has worked in a range of roles; from frontline advice, advocacy and care management to operational and senior management within mental health, older people and social care services. She is also a trustee of a small voluntary sector organisation.
Jo has delivered training for over 10 years, and believes that training for frontline services needs to be bespoke to the organisation, tailored to the staff and must engage them, if it's to have any long lasting effect.
Jo believes that no trainer should deliver a subject they do not have lived experience of, or significant work experience in. Jo is neurodivergent; having been diagnosed with ADHD in her 40s, and has experienced mental health issues in the past. She brings this to life in the training she delivers.
Alongside this she has a post graduate qualfication in attachment and trauma.
Jo brings her training experience, qualifications in coaching and training , alongside years of safeguarding and advocacy experience, having being a qualified Independent Mental Capacity Advocate. She's also well equipped to understand your organisation and the challenges it experiences through overseeing, managing and delivering frontline services throughout the years.
Training will be adapted to be specific to your organisation, delivered by an expert training who has significant work and lived experience of the topic, delivering evidenced based training that engages your people.
Our model offers a stepped approach so you can get the right training for the different services and roles in your organisation.
Lunch and Learn/Power Hours
These one hour introductions give a brief overview of the topic, some key ideas or research and some top takeaways to really hit home a key message for a number of staff. These webinars can host up to 50 people and offer a way into a topic.
Level 1- Awareness Raising
These half day courses give a good awareness of a topic. They cover information on key legislation, models and systems, but also give people an opportunity to experience the topic through discussion, exercises and media. They can usually be delivered face-to-face or live online.
Level 2- Knowledge Building
Level 2 courses are usually a day long, and offer supervisors, managers and practice leads an opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and increase their understanding of roles, responsibilities and practices they might need to undertake in the subject. They can usually be delivered face-to-face or live online.
Level 3 - Deep Dive
For some of the more complex topics such as trauma informed practice we offer a deeper engagement. This is suitable for staff who work with more complex clients, or subjects and those in lead and management roles. These are usually 1-2 day training courses. We usually recommend these courses are delivered face-to-face.
